Everything you need to know about Willow
Willow is a bill payment service that covers your bills on your behalf and lets you pay us back over 4 weekly installments with no interest. We help you manage cash flow by splitting bills into smaller, manageable payments.
Yes, absolutely. We use bank-level security and are secured by Plaid, a trusted financial technology company. Your personal and financial information is encrypted and protected with industry-leading security measures.
Our one-time service fee is $6 for every $100 covered (or part of it): $6 for bills up to $100, $12 up to $200, $18 up to $300, and so on. A card processing fee (about 3%) also applies when you repay by card. Both fees are included in your first payment, which also covers about a third of your bill. A $5 late fee applies if a scheduled repayment is missed. No interest, no hidden charges.
Start with up to $150 on your first bill. Your coverage grows to $700 or more as you repay on time. Your limit increases with each bill you pay off: $325 after your 1st, $425 after your 2nd, and up to $700 by your 6th. Our most active customers can grow beyond $700. No application needed. It grows automatically.
After your bill is approved, you'll make 4 weekly repayments to us. The first payment is larger. It covers about a third of your bill plus the one-time service and card processing fees. The remaining 3 equal payments are charged automatically to your connected payment method on the scheduled dates. You can also make payments manually through your account dashboard.
If a scheduled payment is missed, a flat $5 late fee applies. That's the only late fee, and you'll always see it coming: we text a reminder before every payment. If you're having trouble, contact us before the payment date. We'll work with you.
Approval usually takes about 1 business day, and we pay your biller within 1-3 business days after approval. To be safe, submit your bill at least 5 business days before it's due.
Currently, you can only pay bills that are in your name. This is for security and verification purposes. The bill must match the name on your account with us.
You'll need to upload a clear photo or PDF of your bill showing the amount due, due date, and your name. We may also ask for additional verification documents depending on the bill type and amount.
Payment requests may not be approved for various reasons including: bill amount exceeds our limits, unclear or incomplete documentation, bill is not in your name, or the bill has already been paid. Contact our support team for specific details about your request.
After we send your payment, most vendors post it to your account within 3-5 business days. If you don't see it after 5 business days, please contact us.
Getting approved is straightforward. We don't do credit checks. Approval is based on your bill and basic account information. Approval usually takes about 1 business day.
No. We don't run a credit check when you apply, and we don't report your payments to credit bureaus. Approval is based on your bill and basic information.
Each bill payment is a separate request that needs individual approval. While we can't set up automatic monthly payments, you can submit new requests each month for recurring bills.
You can submit multiple bills, but each one is processed as a separate request with its own approval process and payment schedule. Each bill will have its own service fee and 4-payment plan.
Willow is available across the US, except California. We don't currently serve California residents. If you're in California, you can join the waitlist through our signup page and we'll email you as soon as Willow launches there.
